Alcogoggles

The alcogoggles that simulate vision with different concentration of alcohol in the blood (e.g. between 0.7 and 1 promile), allow the participant to experience vision under influence while actually being sober.
The alcogoggles are an internationally popular evidenced-based prevention tool used to educate people of all ages about the consequences of alcohol misuse and abuse. The goggles use special lens technology that allows the wearer to experience a realistic simulation of impairment. They simulate six distinct impairment levels and are available in a clear or shaded version to simulate either daytime or nighttime conditions. A popular activity to conduct with them is to perform Standard Field Sobriety Tests such as walking a straight line heal-to-toe or the one-legged stand. Due to the loss of balance and equilibrium produced by the goggles, the wearer will exhibit behaviors that are similar to that of someone under the influence of alcohol and other drugs.

GARE - Portugal

We believe that this action will be a multidimensional approach of health care.
The interest/objective of this action is to coordinate many health topics and to educate young people.
The action aims to sensitize the youngsters on important topics of road safety and VIH, to tackle the problem of risky behaviors among 12- 30 years.

GARE is preparing the activity to be held on the 1st of December 2009. Youngsters will be invited to produce art projects (e.g. dance, photography and music) in the context of HIV prevention mixed with Road Safety issues.
The projects will be also presented to the public on the 1st December - The World Day Against AIDS.
At the same time, the pilot action and recreational/educational activities related with the theme, will take place in one of the most emblematic monuments of the city - D.MANUEL PALACE.

Heroes Campus Tour: Responsible Young Drivers – Belgium

The Heroes Campus Tour is an awareness campaign on drugs and road safety organized in universities in order to reach all students.
Road of illusions: Road Safety Institute „Panos Mylonas” – Greece

Objectives:

- To convince, mainly young people, to drive safely without being under the influence of alcohol
- To inform the participants about the results of hyper-consumption of alcohol when they are driving and not only
- To change the mentality of drink and driving
Alive: Responsible Young Drivers - Luxembourg

Objectives:

- Develop the sense of responsibility regarding risky behaviors
- Increase the awareness regarding the use of prevention tools
- Encourage indirect actors to sensitize their friends, lovers… to take up a responsible attitude on the road as in their relationship.

The objective of the project is to reduce, among youngsters in recreational settings, drug consumptions which can also have bad consequences on driving capacities.
